DURHAM - Duke Sports reported Monday its arrangement to refresh the playing surface at Creeks Field at Wallace Swim Arena. The Blue Demons will introduce counterfeit grass in the shade of Duke Blue start in May. The task is assessed to require two months to finish and will make a big appearance Friday, Aug. 30, when the Blue Fiends invite Elon for their season opener. The arena, which opened in 1929, was the primary games office on Duke's West Grounds. Initially Duke Arena, it was renamed in 1967 for previous Blue Demon lead trainer Wallace Swim with Creeks Field being devoted in 2015 after graduate Steve Streams and his better half, Eileen. The scene has gone through only another redesign in its set of experiences, a three-stage plan, what began after the culmination of the 2014 season and finished up preceding the 2017 season. During the past remodel, the playing surface was brought down seven feet, the encompassing track was taken out, and a Drove videoboard was introduced....
